Who we are
Stackd Local is a Stackd Labs service based in Ontario, Canada. This policy applies to the Stackd Local website, direct contact form, Free Online Visibility Checkup, Local Visibility Action Plan purchase, and Custom Quote request.
Information we collect
When you send a direct message, you may provide:
- your name and email address;
- your business name, if relevant; and
- the contents of your message.
When you request a free checkup, you may also provide:
- business name, city or service area, and business category;
- your website and Google Business Profile link, if available;
- notes about anything specific you would like us to check; and
- limited campaign or referral context, such as UTM parameters, an opaque referral code, the landing page, and referring URL when available.
When you purchase a Local Visibility Action Plan, we may receive your name, email address, business name, website, payment status, amount, currency, and identifiers that connect the order to Stripe. Stripe handles your payment details. Stackd Local does not receive your full card number.
When you request a Custom Quote, you may also provide the email used for your Action Plan, your preferred call times, your website, and notes about the work you want to discuss.
We also review public business signals, such as websites, map and business listings, reviews, and other information already available online. Our hosting and security systems may receive basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, request time, and security events.
Why we use it
We use this information to:
- receive, review, and respond to your checkup request;
- prepare and deliver the requested checkup or Action Plan;
- confirm payment and maintain the order record;
- schedule and respond to a Custom Quote request;
- communicate with you about the request or service you asked for;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website; and
- prevent spam, automated abuse, and misuse.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use a checkup request to send unrelated marketing unless you separately agree to receive it.
Service providers and where information is handled
We use Cloudflare for website hosting, security, and database services. Stripe processes Action Plan payments. Our email provider sends service emails, and a private Discord webhook alerts our team when a form or paid order arrives. Each provider receives only the information needed for its part of the service and handles it under its own privacy and security terms.
Stackd Local operates from Ontario and handles information under applicable Ontario and Canadian privacy laws. Some service providers may process or store information outside Ontario or Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that location. We limit provider access to what is reasonably needed for the service.
Consent and your choices
By submitting a form, you consent to our handling the submitted information for the purposes described above. Purchasing an Action Plan also authorizes Stripe and Stackd Local to process and record the transaction. You may withdraw consent for future use, subject to legal or operational requirements, through our monitored contact form. If you do not provide the details required for the service you chose, we may be unable to deliver it.
Retention
We keep direct messages, free-checkup submissions, and related correspondence for up to 12 months by default. Purchase, payment, Action Plan, and Custom Quote records may be kept longer when needed to provide the service, maintain business and tax records, meet a legal obligation, or resolve a dispute. We may delete information sooner when you ask and no exception applies.
To deter repeated abuse without keeping the original value, we may retain a one-way hashed abuse signal for no more than 30 days. We then delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably required.
Cookies and analytics
The current site does not use advertising cookies or optional third-party analytics. We use limited first-party session storage to carry campaign or referral context from the page you entered to the free Checkup form. This storage lasts only for the browser session and must never block the site or form. The site and its infrastructure may also use strictly necessary technical storage or similar signals for security, reliable delivery, and basic operation. If we add optional analytics or materially change this practice, we will update this policy and seek consent where required.
Safeguards
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including restricted access and provider security controls. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Access, correction, and deletion
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or request its deletion, subject to applicable legal exceptions. Submit a request through our monitored contact form. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and change the “Last updated” date. Material changes will apply prospectively, and we will provide additional notice or request consent where required by law.
